North Shore Bank Employees Raise Money for North Shore Habitat for Humanity
PEABODY, MA — (www.northshore-bank.com) In September, North Shore Bank employees raised $1,137 to benefit the North Shore Habitat for Humanity, an organization whose mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope. The proceeds were given by bank employees through their weekly “Jeans Day” program, which was started in 2015 and has contributed over $55,000 to local charities and non-profits. In exchange for $5 each week, the bank’s staff is allowed to wear jeans to work on Fridays with the funds collected, pooled, and then donated to an area charity nominated by a bank employee.

FAQS
WHAT IS WOMEN BUILD?
Women Build (WB) encourages women to make a difference by building homes and communities. Through WB,
women learn construction skills, gain confidence at the build site and create hope. WB challenges women from all
walks of life to come together to help eliminate poverty housing one home at a time.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR/BRING?
Please wear long pants, work boots or heavy sneakers. If you have work gloves and a water bottle bring those too. All
tools and building supplies will be provided. You will receive a HFHNS WB t-shirt at the site.
WHERE SHOULD I PARK?
This year, our work site is located at 270 Asbury Street in South Hamilton, MA. On site parking is extremely limited.
If you require onsite parking, please contact us directly at 781 771 9363.
WHAT WILL MY DAY LOOK LIKE?
The work day begins at 8:00AM (8:15AM light refreshments) Lunch will be provided at 11:30AM, and the lunch
program will begin after everyone is seated. It will end around 3:00PM.
CAN I GET A JUMP-START AND IMPROVE MY BUILDING SKILLS BEFORE WB?
Lowe’s two “How-to” clinics for all HFHNS Women Build volunteers and their friends will be offered, dates coming
soon.
IS THERE A FEE TO PARTICIPATE IN WB?
We suggest a donation of $100 per person to cover the cost of building materials, but there is no fee for Women Build.
Because we are a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) corporation any donation that you do make in support of HFHNS, may be tax
deductible.
HOW CAN I RAISE THE SUGGESTED DONATION?
There are many creative ways to raise the suggested $100 donation for WB, including sponsorships through family
and friends (Power of Ten – find ten people willing to donate $10), bake sales, car washes, road races to name a few.
HOW CAN MY BUSINESS/COMPANY SUPPORT HFHNS AND WB?
There are corporate sponsorship opportunities for special events and we schedule Team Build Days for corporations
and small businesses throughout the year. More information is available on the HFHNS website http://www.habitatforhumanity-
northshore.com Please send an email or call to explore this possibility for your organization.
